Member of Parliament of the Netherlands William Moorlag visited Nouryon and BioMCN at Chemiepark in Delfzijl on Friday 4 September.

The working visit was in the context of the recent developments in sustainable energy in the region, with special attention for the hydrogen project Djewels, Europe’s largest green hydrogen factory.

During the visit, the main point of discussion was the concept of the circular economy that the project tries to achieve in the area, becoming the forefront of various hydrogen initiatives aimed at reducing CO2 emissions. In this case, BioMCN combines green hydrogen with CO2 from other processes to produce renewable methanol, which will contribute to the energy transition goals in the Netherlands, both as a versatile chemical material and as an alternative fuel.
